ACT 1 X MAKOV
For our first drop, we chose the Ukrainian graphic artist and painter Pavel Makov.
Pavel is a participant and winner of numerous graphic art exhibitions, including the VI International Biennial of Graphics and Drawing (Taipei, Taiwan, 1993), the Osaka Triennale 94 (Osaka, Japan, 1994), the National Triennial of Graphics (Kyiv, 1997), and the International Triennial of Graphics (Prague, 1998), among others. In 2009, Pavel Makov was awarded the Silver Medal by the Academy of Arts of Ukraine. He is the author and participant of numerous projects in Ukraine and abroad. He lives and works in Kharkiv to this day.
We selected two of Pavel's works that, in our opinion, are relevant in the context of our country's struggle for liberation and are personally significant to the founders of our brand. Kharkiv and Kyiv hold a special place in our hearts, as the former is our city of birth, and the latter is the place of foundation and home for our brand.
The works are titled 'City with Independence Square' and 'City with Freedom Square' (to be featured in the SS24 collection).
For many years, Independence Square has been a symbol of free expression, while independence and freedom are the core values for us as citizens."
